Cory Kennedy

This deck is part of the six piece Big Babies series made by Girl and released in 2014. Here we have Cory Kennedy sitting wearing socks, a blue baby suit with the Girl logo on it and a pink hat. There is a fish and we can read “Topaz Lake Nevada” on the hat. The font used for the skater’s name is childish with rounded corners and the multicolored letters help to fit in with the picture and the theme series. It’s worth noting that the letter “D” of Kennedy name is replaced by a star with the Girl logo inside, while this is the letter “O” which is replaced by a star for the other skaters. The idea of developping this series orginally came from a Eric Koston one-off board. Hershel Baltrotsky, who made the graphics for this series and who was the art director of Girl Skateboards from 2008 to 2014, explained it in the interview we did with him. He said that all the babies shown in this series are stolen from the internet.
