Brand: Girl
Size: 8″ x 31,5″
Year: 2012
Artist: Brian Anderson
The deck is part of the seven piece Recovery series that came out in 2012. The art is from Brian Anderson, a pro skater that was still riding for Girl at that time. At the center of Cory Kennedy’s deck, the Girl logo is protrayed as an angel over book pages. Kennedy is written fourteen times on the board while Cory is written five times, even though we can read some “Core” or “Corey” words too. “Trunk Boyz” and its hand sign are visible twice, a reference to the crew Cory Kennedy was part of with Elijah Berle, Raven Tershy, Stevie Perez and Vincent Alvarez. Two skateboards are drawn with backward trucks, a note is written next to one of them saying: “Yr trucks are backwards Core :)”. Many Girl and Chocolate decks released in 2012 had the “#prettysweet” top graphic, to promote the Pretty Sweet film that came out that same year.
This board graphic came out just one year after Cory Kennedy turned pro, in 2011.
